"In response to creating a piece to honor All Black Lives Matter, I wanted to create a tribute for one of the beloved LGBTQ figures in black history - Marsha P. Johnson. I included flowers in her signature flower crown that represent specific meanings in floriography, and eight flowers total to signify infinity- describing how Marsha's legacy has and will continue to impact generations."
